The Arthur K. Atkinson

My trusty Nikon D60 and I found ourselves on a very interesting little adventure recently.  A de-comissioned freighter docked at a very remote location on the great lakes.  Here's a few images.  This vessel definitely had a power to it.  It was erie to imagine the activity that used to make up the operation of the thing.  Now to see it in an almost "post-apocalyptic" state.

I'd love to go back sometime and shoot it under better light around magic hour.  I suspect that it would be beautiful.

	Great Photos. I was at DeTour on Memorial weekend to get photos of the Atkinson. How did you get on board???? I'm a HUGE Carferry Nerd. Been on Viking at Menominee, sailed on Badger. Saw City of Midland at Kewaunee, also saw the Atkinson there. Bob Kalal

	Thanks Bob. I'm crewing on a film that is shooting on the City of Milwaukee, docked in Manistee in September. We used the Atkinson for 2nd unit exterior shots. That's how I was fortunate enough to get on the vessel. I'm not a boat guy, but was very impressed by this thing. Great experience, lots of history.
